Sandancer
The first time I met you, I thought your voice was surreal
It was like every sentence you said was a song,
And I wanted to sing-along.
I may be a posh boy, and you may be keeping it real
This Fairy from South, and this Angel from North
The stars aligned of course
Sometimes when I’m up there, I can’t make out what people say
Your mum is your mam and your gran is your nan
I’ll stay quiet and hold your hand
They’re full of strange words like tara pet, wey-aye and howay
It’s tough to keep up with this funny old lot
but I’ll give it my best shot
They call you a Sandancer
I’m not really sure what it means
But I know it means you so I guess I’m a Sandancer too
The girls have their fake tan and perfect mascara lines
They’ve got mini-skirts, tube tops, towering heels
and eyelashes of steel
When they’re out on the town, they’re always done up to the nines
They’re hiding their shame in freezing cold rain
But they don’t seem to feel any pain
They call you a Sandancer
I’m not really sure what it means
But I know it means you so I guess I’m a Sandancer too
The boys have their six packs in tight shirts and Newcastle Brown
They say that their bark is much worse than their bite
But sometimes they love a good fight
They’re all getting wasted and trying to keep it all down
They just want a girl to take home for the night
and make love till the morning light
They call you a Sandancer
I’m not really sure what it means,
But I know it means you so I guess I’m a Sandancer too
Maybe one day I will call this town my home,
I’ll never be lost for a good cup o’ tea
Cos they treat me like family
I know I don’t blend in but I won’t be here alone
You will be here night and day at my side
And I’ll walk the streets with pride
They call you a Sandancer
You move me in all the right ways
They call you a Sandancer
I’ll love you for all of my days
They call you a Sandancer
I finally know what it means
Well I know it means you so call me a Sandancer too

Flicker

Last year’s winter has left its mark,
It's taken its toll and scarred my heart,
It never will mend, it will stay until end
I've been waiting for too long now,
Waiting for my time to learn how,
How to forgive this sin so old
How I can give my love when it's cold
Standing here I'm not so sure,
Maybe I was foolish when I closed that door
On the world that terrified me,
Because in that world I saw eternity
I can feel these rivers ignite
Signals and sparks shining luminous white
On a world that I'd never seen
Because in that world you have to believe
There is still a flicker in the back of my mind
There is still a trace of sentiments kind,
The lights may be dim but they are not out
I still hear the call of love devout
There is still a flicker in the back of my mind
There is still a trace of sentiments kind,
I stand here a martyr undone
Trembling and blind, Spring’s living son

When I used to knock on 1234
The seconds I'd wait for you at the door
Were full of romance, my heart used to dance
For you
Seconds last days when I'm waiting for you
Are you still my girl, won't you give me a clue
I hear your footsteps, is it really true?
Are you there?
Just one moment till I get to see you
Just one moment till you let me in
Just one moment till you’re in my arms again
My old friend
My old friend
When I used to knock on 1234
There were songs in my head, I knew the whole score
My pulse would rise, I'd get butterflies
For you
Seconds last days when I'm waiting for you
Are you still my girl, won’t you give me a clue
I hear your footsteps, is it really true?
Are you there?
Just one moment till I get to kiss you
Just one moment till you let me in
Just one moment till your in my arms again
My old friend
My old friend
I know that heaven is waiting for me
I know that your touch can set me free
I know the pain will be over you'll see
Follow my lead
Follow my lead
Now I am knocking on 1234
The seconds I'm waiting for you at the door
Are full of romance, My heart starts to dance
For you
Days turn to years when were not together
But there is no storm that we can’t weather
This is worth trying for, you are worth dying for
That's why I'm here at your door
Days turn to years when were not together
But there is no storm that we can’t weather
This is worth trying for, you are worth dying for
That's why I'm here at your door, once more

Babysteps

Babysteps are what you take from the cradle to the grave
Babysteps you celebrate everytime a new one is made
One day you were nothing more
Than feelings that you can't ignore
Particles and chemistry
The rest of it is history
So hold on, take it as it comes
Babysteps are what you take
Babysteps you celebrate
One day you’re stood in a room
Making vows a Bridge and Groom
Then you’re off to see the sun
To live the life you’ve just begun
So hold on, take it as it comes
Babysteps are what you take from the cradle to the grave
Babysteps you celebrate every time a new one is made
Sometimes life comes all at once,
And knocks you out with a single punch
Sometimes life is full of grace,
and memories you can’t replace
All these moments seem so small
When you hang them on the wall
You can't go forward can't go back
On this long and winding track
All these moments take their place
In the lines on your face
These memories you can't replace
Babysteps are what you take
Babysteps you celebrate
Baby, there’s nothing in our way
Baby, we’ll make it through the day
Baby, there’s nothing in our way
Baby, we’ll make it through the day
There’s nothing more to say
